“Boda Clay has been growing & evolving over the past three years but the focus has remained the same; to make ceramics for everyday life: a vase for flowers, mugs for your morning coffee, planters for your windowsills, and bowls to hold your nutritious & delicious meals.”

“I have worked in many studio spaces over the years but am currently in a shared space in Deep South City, St. Louis. Our studio is a converted pizza parlor with our kilns sitting conveniently under the exhaust hood.”

“Clay remembers each touch, whether made intentionally or accidentally. Those who slow down enough to appreciate the marks of a maker will undoubtedly find the most joy in handmade objects; whether it's the rings of a thrown pot or variations in the rim of a cup.”

“I am in a constant state of gratitude to those who dedicated their lives to this craft before I did. Hundreds of years of hard work, innovation, and dedication from masters all across the globe made my passion possible in a modern context.”

.

“Still, there are many steps from a ball of clay to creating those beloved ceramic pieces: wedge, measure, throw, refine, dry, sand, bisque fire, rinse, glaze application, glaze firing, repeat.”

“I often equate learning to work with clay with learning to garden. There is endless knowledge to acquire on both subjects, yet if you are able to connect with the clay/ earth, intuition & basic principles are often enough to guide you.”

“The practice of making ceramics has slowed my life down; helping me to be present and pursue a more intentional life. It is my hope that Boda Clay products will aid in cultivating balance in other's lives as well.”
